DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE carrier flydubai has increased its flight offerings to Italy to support the rising international travel demand. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is bolstering its presence in Italy with additional frequencies on key commercial routes. Beginning July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double daily flights connecting Dubai and Milan-Bergamo, and will also maintain daily round-trip services to Naples, further strengthening its commercial footprint in the region.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

The expanded schedule broadens the airline’s overall operational scope in Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal summer services to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through the end of August. Alongside increased flight frequencies, flydubai has announced operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Because of planned maintenance at Naples International Airport, the airline will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport from November 1 to November 30, 2026. Regular flights to Naples are expected to resume on December 1, 2026, with passengers holding existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Agreement Facilitates Seamless Travel Connections Through Dubai

The new routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples are operated under the established codeshare partnership between flydubai and the international flag carrier Emirates. This cooperation enables travelers to enjoy integrated travel plans, single-ticket options, synchronized flight timings, and through-checked baggage services across both airlines. Leveraging the shared network via Dubai’s hub, passengers connecting from Italian airports gain access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct flights to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity increase aligns with broader aviation trends in the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger volumes continue to grow steadily post-pandemic. The additional flights support expanding bilateral trade, investment, and tourism exchange between the UAE and Italy. The double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo cater to business travelers heading to Italy’s key financial and industrial hub, while daily services to southern Italy cater to seasonal tourist influxes visiting historic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s CEO, commented on the network’s growth, emphasizing that Naples and Milan have become crucial gateways within the airline’s European network. He underlined that maintaining reliable regional access remains a priority while the airline continues to develop connectivity to underserved markets. Al Ghaith pointed out that recent market data indicates that flydubai is strengthening its operations in Italy through targeted frequency increases, accommodating the rising passenger flows between the UAE and Italy, especially as travel activity accelerates toward the winter season.

Major Airport Hubs in Italy Offer Direct Access for Travelers

Discussing commercial operations further, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, highlighted that expanding non-stop flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the strategic importance of the Italian market. Efendi explained that direct connections enable international travelers to leverage the combined networks of flydubai and Emirates to reach major global destinations conveniently via Dubai. The airline’s commercial teams have confirmed that fleet deployment and operational preparations are ready to support the increased flight schedule, ensuring high standards of reliability for both passenger and cargo services.

The Italy-focused operational enhancements are part of flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and international network development strategy. As the airline continues to acquire modern narrow-body aircraft, it plans to further increase frequencies on high-demand European routes. These Italian schedule enhancements reinforce Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub, enabling efficient passenger and freight movement between European origins and expanding destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
